The Credit Analyst III is responsible for working with the Credit Department and Sales Department to evaluate and underwrite medium to large dollar transactions. This position is responsible for reviewing and analyzing customer credit information, preparing and presenting credit memos, making credit decisions within assigned credit authority, and consistent with the organization's vision, core values, and team guidelines.
Duties and responsibilities:
Underwriting
Responsible for reviewing loan requests on both new and existing customers. As part of the assessment, the analyst will conduct thorough, comprehensive business, management and organizational analysis to form a deep, broad, accurate, and up-to-date understanding of that business’s health, capacity, and capability to appropriately utilize and fully repay its loan in a timely manner. Spread and analyze relevant financial data, including tax returns and financial statements of businesses and personal guarantors, projections and sensitivity analysis. Examine cash flow (stand alone and global) and review collateral adequacy. Perform appropriate market, industry and economic analysis as well as obtain personal credit and other associated business reports. Recommend risk ratings, identify key risks and mitigating factors. Perform relationship annual reviews. Communicate directly with the Business Development Managers and customers during the underwriting process. Independently prepares comprehensive credit presentations within the scope of policies and risk appetite and presents requests outside of personal lending authority to Credit Committee. Capable of multi-tasking, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
Relationship MaintenanceManage and continue to grow strong relationships with vendors, customers and business partners, and internal departments to continue to drive business results and create a superior customer experience. Foster a close working relationship with departments throughout the organization to identify appropriate risk tolerance within new or existing business opportunities. Assist with managing the annual review process on existing relationships. Work with the small ticket team to facility the completion of limited Annual Reviews on existing customer relationships.
Credit Committee / BOD
Assist the Credit Committee with related reporting and administrative needs. Compile and present credit related reports and memorandums.
Exception ResolutionResearch in resolving technical exceptions to credit policy determined by both internal and external parties.
Special ProjectsAssist with special projects. Special projects will vary based on workload, organizational priorities, and identified initiatives.
Bachelor’s Degreein Finance, Economics, or Business-related field required with 3 years of credit analysis/underwriting experience in a commercial lending capacity preferably with specialty equipment finance and/or C&I lending experience. Formal credit training beneficial. 3 years of experience in medium to large ticket underwriting required with a thorough understanding of cash flow analysis, financial statement analysis and tax returns, and personal credit reports. Demonstrated ability to write concise financial analysis and credit memoranda.
